Welcome to Thursday, December 3, geese and ganders...
President TrumpĀ said during a Christmas reception at the White House that he plans to spend four more years in the West Wingāwhether they begin in January 2021 or January 2025.
The president again insisted - with no evidence - that he won the election "but they don't like that."
On Wednesday, the president posted a 45-minute speech on Facebook and Instagram about his legal fight, where he once again vacillated between false claims that he won the election and that it was stolen from him.
Congress Scrambles for Bipartisan Deal on COVID-19 ReliefĀ
With time running short for Congress to approve a coronavirus relief package before the ongoing lame duck session concludes, lawmakers from both sides of the aisle are suggesting proposals in the hope of reaching what has proven to be an elusive compromise.
Lawmakersā primary focus is on passing a spending bill to fund the government and avoid a partial shutdown on December 11th, but Democratic and Republican leaders have suggested that if they can reach a COVID relief deal by the end of the weekend that it could be merged with the spending package to speed its enactment.
Several price tags for a COVID relief package have been floated by lawmakers in recent days, so hereās a look at whatās being suggested by various groups in Congress.Ā

Governor Encourages Snitching
Oregon Governor Kate Brown (D) is encouraging citizens to inform law enforcement if they encounter Thanksgiving gatherings which violate the restrictions imposed as part of her āfreezeā order to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the state.Ā
Brownās freeze limits social gatherings ā indoor or outdoor ā to no more than 6 people total, from no more than 2 households; caps attendance at places of worship to 25 people indoors or 50 people outdoors; and halts visits to long-term care facilities. The freeze is in effect for the entire state from November 18th through December 2nd, and for Multnomah County, which includes the city of Portland, through December 16th.
Violators could face up to 30 days in jail, a fine of up to $1,250, or both, and BrownĀ said the enforcement of penalties for violations has become necessary.
Should people call the police over COVID-19 violations?
And, in the Endā¦
Forks out for National Apple Pie Day.
"American as apple pie" dates back to 1924, when it appeared in an advertisement in theĀ Gettysburg Times. And during World War II, American soldiers would tell journalists they were fighting for "mom and apple pie."
Why is Ma making square apple pie?
