Nuclear Talks Resume After Iranian General Vows to Bring the 'Annihilation of Israel'

Do you think the Iran nuclear agreement can be reinstated by all sides?

Diplomacy trumps bombing—every single time. Ignore the war hawks in Congress and industry, and advance diplomatic efforts with Iran to apply accountability and deescalation. Support the Vienna agreement as a responsible and legitimate step toward peace. Americans are completely sick and tired of endless wars. Isolate rogue states economically, yes—but don’t drag out the weapons of war at the first setback.

Hopefully not. The deal was a lopsided disaster that wildly strengthened Iran, with almost zero verifiable commitment to abide.

The Iranians seem not to be a trustworthy partner here and they usually backpedal on any agreement. Like playing a lottery ticket - you have a 50% chance of winning and that percentage is lowered by the unknown other winners. It’s unpredictable.

Negotiations for JPCOA, the Iran Nuclear deal, should return to pre-Trump status this week. The deal originally involved the P5+1. One dropped out but the others chose to stay the course. It should take no effort for the one to join back in and set things as they were. Done deal and peace in our time. However, since the so called collapse of the deal Iran has been busy. With three sites and thousands of active and advanced centrifuges some approaching 60% purified uranium, we can only believe when they say it is for civilian purposes. 3% to 5% enrichment is what you will find in civilian nuclear reactors. Fortunately there is a second nuclear agreement out there that I believe has more clout than JPCOA. With Iran reiterating it's long time vow to destroy Israel, the Mossad has vowed, “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, not in the coming years, not ever..."

We need to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons at all costs. The previous nuclear Iran deal only delayed them getting nuclear weapons. It wouldn't stop them from getting nuclear weapons. Iran is not a stable nation it would hold the whole world hostage with the Irans nuclear arsenal. Stop the nuclear deal with Iran.

It's certainly worth the effort to attempt to get a nuclear agreement going again and undo the damage that Trump did before the Iranians actually do wipe Israel off of the map. Preventing such an action seems to me to be worth a little effort at least.

Hilarious how many Dimtards reference trust in America yet their boy illegit Joe left Americans and allies to fend for themselves in Afghanistan. Now that's cause for lack of trust going forward. Open your eyes and recognize the countries that are supportive of the Iran-ban. How much dope are you people smoking?

It CAN be, the questions is "After Trump, why should any country trust the USA again?"! Our ability to negotiate is critically damaged, because our administration cannot assure negotiators or allies that any agreement will not be destroyed by some insane subsequent administration. It may take a century to rebuild that level of trust and dependability!

This agreement was flawed from the beginning. First, it was not a treaty as required by the US Constitution and the Obama Administration illegally bypassed those requirements. Two, the Iranians are NOT to be trusted. Iran is the new Fascist state. And they have ZERO qualms about breaking international laws and agreements to achieve what they want. Third, every financial incentive that the Iranians received was pushed to terrorist groups like the al Houthis in Yemen, Al Shabaab in Africa, Hamas in Gaza, and Hezbollah in Lebanon, among others. And NOW we know that Iran has sent hunter-killer teams to Colombia, Europe, and other places just to murder private Israeli citizens. The US CANNOT support such evil by treating this criminal regime as a legitimate member of the international community. That's what Europe did with the Nazi regime in the 1930's. Look where it got them.

It's possible but it would require full compliance from Iran. Leslie and jimK, your reading comprehension skills appear compromised by your zealous hatred of conservative opinion. Baseless or fact deficient ramblings and blind support of regimes that would just as soon cut off your head seem less than American. Iran was NOT compliant which is why POTUS Trump appropriately withdrew. Unless you think it was acceptable and appropriate for Iran to disallow inspections, enrich uranium at a rate that exceeded the agreement, and fund militant/terror groups focused on death to America? And maybe you do. Germany, Britain and France disagree. Perhaps you believe that flipping our Republic to Communism will somehow benefit or exclude you from the harsh reality that has been repeated many times over throughout history? With an Iranian general on record as stating the annihilation of Israel is a paramount goal, now is not the time to release $10 Billion such as in the case of Obama/Kerry's previous misstep. Besides, your guy illegit Joe said he wouldn't lift sanctions. Or did he? He's can't remember what flavor of ice cream Jill gave him for breakfast. Probably with corn pops sprinkled on top.

Another mess for Biden to clean up left in the wake of the trump’s asininity. Why should Iran believe anything that the US says? They were generally complying with the agreement that Obama and US allies forged. It was not perfect, but it did provide a common ground from which violations could be addressed. When the trump came in with his sledgehammer ‘my way or the highway’ might makes right ‘diplomacy’ - any trust that the U.S. would honor our hard fought agreements was sacrificed. Any fool with a sledge hammer and a pickup truck can destroy a barn in a day. Restoring that barn takes a number of people working collaboratively over some period of time - and some additional effort to assure that the same fool who destroyed it will find it more difficult the next time. … … … It is the trump’s sacrifice of trust in our country, trust that we will honor our country’s commitments to foes and allies alike, that will take years to overcome. In the wake of the trumps mission to undo anything that Obama accomplished, he and the Republican Faction have severely damaged the credibility and the trust that our country will honor it;s promises. … … … Our country’s stupidity in ever electing this buffoon will continue to cost all of us dearly for year’s to come. … … … Perhaps the Democrats should ask the CBO to examine the added current and long term economic costs of the trump’s presidency and the Republican Faction’s decision to make use of the trump’s antics for political expediency. … … … I certainly do not trust Iran’s motivations or intent. It was a shameful act for the trump to give Iran a justifiable ‘out’ because our country violated our commitment. This will be hard to fix with Iran. It will be hard to get our allies to regroup to keep Iran from nuking the Middle East. It is unfortunate that the Iranian people will be the ones to suffer the most from any ‘imposed’ solution which may ultimately be required to eliminate the Iranian nuclear threat.
