IT: 🦃 Pardoned turkeys, 👿 Graham's 'trifecta of hell' grievances, and... Should Gov. Whitmer of Michigan be impeached?
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
Welcome to Wednesday, November 25th, tacos and burritos...
"Corn" and "Cob" have been pardoned.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday participated in the annual White House turkey pardon, granting a reprieve to Corn and Cob.
“We’re here to continue a beloved annual tradition,” the president said. “Thanksgiving is a special day for turkeys. Probably, for the most part, not a very good one, when you think about it."
Trump thanked health care workers, first responders, scientists and the armed forces.
“From our earliest days, American has always been a story of perseverance and triumph, determination and strength, loyalty and faith. This week, in a time that is very unusual but, in so many ways, very very good, what we’ve endured and been able to endure.”
In 2018, Trump joked about one of the turkeys contesting the which-turkey-to-pardon vote. The scenario was surprisingly prescient:
"This was a fair election. Unfortunately, Carrots refused to concede and demanded a recount, and we're still fighting with Carrots. But I will tell you, we've come to a conclusion. Carrots. I'm sorry to tell you, the result did not change. That's too bad for Carrots."
How do you feel about the turkey-pardon tradition?
Graham's Grievances
Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Lindsey Graham (R-SC) called President-elect Joe Biden, Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York a "trifecta from hell" who will lead to the "end of checks and balances" if Republicans lose the Georgia runoff races.
“I may not be your cup of tea out there,” Graham continued. “But let me tell you this: I’m a hell of a lot better than Bernie Sanders when it comes to your money,” he added, suggesting that a win by Peach State Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff would lead to budget committee chairmanship by “avowed socialist” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
Graham also shared concerns that mail-in voting in Georgia could swing the runoff election to favor Democrats.
How do you feel about Graham's remarks?
So...What is Happening in Georgia?
Georgia will hold two runoff elections for its pair of Senate seats on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. The results of these two races could determine which party controls the Senate.
Here, we walk all through Peach Staters through the process of voting in the upcoming runoffs.
Remember: Georgians have until December 7, 2020, to register to participate in the January 5 runoff. This includes 17-and-a-half-year-olds who will turn 18 by January 5.

Michigan Republicans Want to Impeach Gov. Whitmer
Three Republican state representatives in Michigan have introduced impeachment articles against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D).
Reps. Beau LaFave, Matt Maddock, and Daire Rendon claim that Gov. Whitmer committed crimes and misdemeanors:
Gov. Whitmer's press secretary, Tiffany Brown, issued a statement on the governor's behalf:
"The governor will continue to work hard for all 10 million Michiganders. This is about Michigan vs. COVID-19. Governor Whitmer doesn't care if you're a Trump Republican or a Biden Democrat. We are all in this together."
To impeach Whitmer, the Michigan state constitution would require a 2/3 vote from the state Senate to remove and convict her.
And, in the End…
Pick a tune for National Jukebox Day.
I love the prehistoric iPods. They always felt like distilled Vegas to me, with their neon and songs and mirth. My favorite: the Wurlitzer 1015 "bubbler" jukebox, introduced in 1946:
Look at that shrine to songs. Beautiful.
No interest? Congrats. You just celebrated Blasé Day.
It's not you. It's ennui,
