The Semi-Finals of Countable’s Summer 2019 Bill Acronym Bracket
How do you feel about the congressional use of bill acronyms?
In honor of Congress’s August recess and politicians’ penchant for the pithy bill acronyms that have grown in popularity since the passage of the USA PATRIOT Act, we’ve put together another tournament in which you — Countable users — will choose the best bill acronym of the 116th Congress.
Countable’s selection committee has chosen 16 of the most creatively, and in some cases spitefully, titled pieces of legislation this Congress has introduced. The winners of this round will face off in next week’s championship, and you’ll be able to vote for your favorite through Thursday. May the best bill acronym win!
(1) Preventing Unkind and Painful Procedures and Experiments on Respected Species (PUPPERS) Act vs. (12) Guaranteed Refugee Admission Ceiling Enhancement (GRACE) Act
(2) Welfare Of Our Friends! (WOOF!) Act vs. (11) Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence (TRACED) Act
