Should the House Intelligence Chairman Recuse Himself from Russia Investigation?

Pressure is mounting from Democrats on Capitol Hill for the House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian meddling with the 2016 Election and the alleged, but currently unsubstantiated, wiretapping of Trump Tower.
"I think Mr. Nunes has disqualified himself from having anything to do with the investigation," Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) told reporters on Tuesday. The number two most powerful Democrat in the House is the latest in a growing Democratic chorus calling for Nunes to step aside. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has also asked him to recuse himself, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has called on Republicans to replace him as chairman.
The new calls for Nunes to step aside come after his staff told reporters on Monday that he was secretly briefed on White House grounds by his source in the intelligence community about his investigation into whether the Obama White House monitored members of the Trump transition team.
But Nunes brushed aside the criticisms and told reporters he’s prepared to keep up his investigations. "Why would I not?" he responded to numerous questions about whether he plans to continue leading the probe.
Nunes maintains the support of many of his Republican colleagues and the White House. When asked whether the Intelligence chair should recuse himself from the Russia investigation House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) responded with one word: "No."
Do you think Nunes should step aside? Contact your lawmaker and let them know!
