Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
Confirmation hearings for Trump's nominees will be the focus of Congressional activity this week, with the House adjourned and the Senate working a short week due to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Inauguration Day.
A total of eight Trump nominees are scheduled to go through confirmation hearings this week. On Tuesday, Betsy DeVos (Education) and Rep. Ryan Zinke (Interior) will lead things off. Things get a lot busier on Wednesday with four hearings all slated to begin at 10:00am ET — Wilbur Ross (Commerce), Scott Pruitt (EPA), Nikki Haley (UN Ambassador) and Rep. Tom Price (HHS). The Senate will conclude its week on Thursday with hearings for Steven Mnuchin (Treasury) and Rick Perry (Energy).
As far as bills moving through Congress, the Senate only has one bill on the docket for Tuesday. The GAO Access and Oversight Act would enhance the Government Accountability Office's ability to investigate fraud in federal programs. The Senate hasn't yet announced other bills that it will consider this week, so check back soon to see what else they'll be voting on.
Schedule subject to change. All times Eastern.
