North Korea Launches Ballistic Missile Test

What’s the story?
For the first time since September, North Korea has launched a ballistic missile test.
"The missile was launched from Sain Ni, North Korea, and traveled about 1000 km before splashing down in the Sea of Japan, within Japan's Economic Exclusion Zone (EEZ)," Pentagon spokesman Col. Robert Manning said in a statement, according to reports from ABC News.
The missile posed no threat to the United States, its territories or allies, despite being the highest and longest missile flight to date.
The South Korean military launched a precision missile strike drill of the same height and duration within minutes. That missile landed in waters off the east coast of South Korea, reports CNN.
Speaking with reporters, President Trump addressed the launch, saying, "We will take care of it…It is a situation that we will handle."
The president also addressed the Democratic congressional leaders decision to skip a meeting this afternoon about tax reform, and commented that he expected the missile launch would force them to call him, "though maybe not because all they care about is raising taxes."
