Manafort and Gates Confined to House Arrest

What’s the story?
Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his deputy Rick Gates were arraigned in federal court today following indictments for money laundering, tax and foreign lobbying charges and providing false statements to the FBI. Despite posting significant bonds — Manafort posted $10 million and Gates $5 million, both were placed under house arrest and ordered to surrender their passports out of concern they would be flight risks.
Here’s some of what’s being said on Twitter:
I don't know if Paul Manafort will cut a deal (his "not guilty" plea today was predictable and doesn't tell us anything). But I'll say this: if Manafort does flip, it's all over for Donald Trump.

Paul Manafort arrest of course no surprise. Tony Podesta should have resigned long ago for taking Yanukovych money. What about Tad Devine, senior adviser to both John Kerry and Bernie Sanders' presidential campaigns. Will he get swept up in this? https://t.co/r7dYKkA4xn pic.twitter.com/bjssD4dMuj

Paul Manafort is being indicted for crimes that took place when he was working with the Podestas... in 2012! Nice try Democrats!

Mike Pence has known Paul Manafort for years. Pence met w/Putin advisor this year—& hired Flynn knowing he was Russian agent—& lied about it

The MSM spent all morning trying to conflate Paul Manafort's indictment with Trump, & then as soon as Tony Podesta stepped down... silence.

They say Paul Manafort is on house arrest.

He better have to wear that fancy anklet and not just have to call in
Any other President of the United States that made the "mistake" of hiring someone like Paul Manafort to run his campaign would have apologized immediately. Not our boy Trump. Manafort is Trump's reflection just like all of the other corruption that plagues his regime. pic.twitter.com/uM6KTL68Hg

Fox News is already making personal attacks against one of the judges in the Paul Manafort case. Seriously. https://t.co/JlrvvXBSB1 pic.twitter.com/v4fIthgwwt
