Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
Congress has a busy week ahead, with the House set to finalize the budget for fiscal year 2018 and the Senate poised to send a disaster relief bill to President Donald Trump’s desk.
The House will start its week Monday with bills to strengthen the ability of Congress to enforce subpoenas issued by committees and provide border agents with devices to detect fentanyl and other narcotics on the agenda. Tuesday will bring votes on bills to stop the Justice Dept. from requiring corporate settlements be paid to unrelated activist groups and impede North Korea’s access to financial markets. On Wednesday and Thursday, the House is expected to consider the Senate-passed budget resolution, and a bill to promote transparency in regulatory decrees, along with legislation sanctioning Iran for its ballistic missile program and Hezbollah for terror activities.
The Senate will vote to start debate on a $36.5 billion disaster relief package that’s already been passed by the House. It’s not clear how soon a final passage vote will come, and the rest of the Senate’s agenda is yet to be announced.
