What to Watch
What Everyone Is WatchingIrma. The hurricane battered the Florida Keys on Sunday morning before crashing into Marco Island on Sunday afternoon. By the evening, winds of 100 mph were hitting Sarasota and Tampa. The cyclone has spawned tornadoes, with parts of Georgia also under tornado watch. Hurricane Irma has already broken several records, including: strongest Atlantic basin hurricane; longest-lasting Category 5 hurricane; longest sustained winds of 185 mph or above; largest evacuation in the history of the Bahamas, and potentially the largest in the U.S.
What’s Worth WatchingSeptember 11th memorials. President Donald Trump, and First Lady Melania will oversee commemoration ceremonies for the 16th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. In the morning, around the time the first plane struck the Twin Towers, there will be a remembrance in the White House. Later,. at 9:37 a.m. - the exact time American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon - the President will lead a moment of silence at a Pentagon ceremony. The House returns Tuesday, with Monday’s votes cancelled because of Hurricane Irma.
