Presidential Primary Election - March 12, 2024
Early Voting Available from Monday, February 19, 2024, to Friday, March 8, 2024.
Voter Registration Deadline
- February 12, 2024, 5:00 p.m. - Last day to register/change address for presidential primary election.
Absentee Ballots Deadlines
Registered voters in Georgia who want to vote by absentee ballot this fall should submit an absentee ballot application to their Secretary of State's Elections Division as early as possible.
- Military & Overseas Voters may apply for an electronic transmission ballot anytime during a calendar year by completing the Absentee Ballot Application. Your email notification of ballot availability will be emailed to you beginning 45 days before Election Day.
Ballot Request Deadline
- March 1, 2024 - Last day to request an absentee/mail-in ballot.
Ballot Return Deadline
- March 12, 2024 7:00 p.m. EDT - Absentee ballots must be received by this time.
General Primary Election - May 21, 2024
Early Voting Available from Monday, April 29, 2024, to Friday, May 17, 2024.
Voter Registration Deadline
- April 22, 2024 - Last day to register/change address for May primary.

- October 7, 2024 - Last day for an applicant to register and for an elector to change address before the primary, election, or runoff.

Voter ID Laws
- Georgia requires a photo identification to vote.
Accepted Credentials
- Here is the list of accepted credentials.
- Contact your polling place for an acceptable list of options.
Don't have a valid ID?
- If you are unable to provide an ID, you will be able to vote a provisional ballot. If you are a first-time voter, you will need to provide a copy of your ID to your County Board of Elections and Registration within three days of the election. As long as you do so and are eligible to vote, your provisional ballot will be counted.
