A Pew Research Center analysis found that Democrats and Republicans are ideologically more polarized now than at any point in the last 50 years.
The 2022 study discovered that between the two parties, the Republican Party has had the more dramatic shift in the past five decades. It has moved further to the right and many elements of its core platform have changed perceptibly in recent years.
