Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
Both chambers of Congress will be in session this week, with the House set to take up a slate of bills aimed at combating sexual abuse and human trafficking and the Senate to consider more nominations to executive branch posts.
The House convenes Monday when it will vote on five suspension bills aimed at preventing the sexual abuse or trafficking of children. Tuesday will bring more suspension bills, some of which will be related to trafficking while others aimed at better delivering benefits and processing claims at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. The rest of the week will feature more votes on anti-sexual abuse bills, including one aimed at protecting young athletes, in addition to an anti-identity theft bill that restricts the mailing of Social Security numbers.
The Senate's legislative schedule is yet to be announced, but it will consider the nomination of former Iowa Governor Terry Branstad to be ambassador to China on Monday.
