(Updated December 4, 2021)
This bill — known as the No TRUMP Act — would prohibit the federal government from paying directly or reimbursing government employees for staying at a hotel or other establishment offering daily-rate accommodations that’s owned by the president or a relative of the president.

There’s no need for legislation to prevent the federal government from spending taxpayer dollars at properties owned by the president.
Impact
The federal government; properties owned by the president or their relatives.
Cost of H.R. 1452
A CBO cost estimate is unavailable.
Additional Info
In-Depth: Sponsoring Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) introduced this bill to prohibit taxpayer funds from being spent at properties owned or operated by a president or his or her relatives:
“Trump and his family are riddled with conflicts of interests. Putting a strain on government resources for Trump to hold meetings with U.S. officials at Mar-a-Lago or for the Trump children to travel the world to promote the family business are just more examples. Presidents should not financially benefit from holding the office. No taxpayer money should be spent at Trump hotels. Period.”
This legislation has the support of 22 Democratic cosponsors in the House.
