Hey @Bicycler! Everything OK? Hope so! Haven't seen any of your comments for a few weeks. I thought you and other Neil Young Fans (like @BurrKitty) might like: (1) After pulling out of Spotify Neil Young Put His Entire Discography online for FREE @ neilyoungarchives.com There are easy to use free Apps for mobile devices or it is accessible from a computer browser. There is a pay option but since I pay for Apple Music I did not explore the for pay option on Neil Young's site. (2) "Neil Young Took a Principled Stand. Still waiting for the playlist to be released. Going through some old groups and albums. I haven't played any Credence Clearwater Revival in many months. I strongly advocate "Bad Moon Rising" written by John Fogerty and originally sung and performed by Credence Clearwater Revival. Read the lyrics! It's another prophetic song about Mother Earth from both environmental and social perspectives. At the same time it has strong music. Story has it that the song was inspired by a scene involving a hurricane in the movie "The Devil and Daniel Webster." Evidently Fogerty more vaguely and poetically claimed the song is about the apocalypse that is going to be visited upon us. Others have speculated that Viet Nam and the social unrest of the era really inspired the song and why the song initially resonsated with the audience of the time. Nevertheless, it is still a very popular song used in TV and Film soundtracks and sung at sporting event. It is part of the soundtrack of just released movie "Moonfall." Fogerty is now 76 years old. He's made a ton of money. Bad Moon Rising Songwriter: John C. Fogerty Released in April 1969 I see the bad moon a-rising I see trouble on the way I see earthquakes and lightnin' I see bad times today Don't go around tonight Well it's bound to take your life There's a bad moon on the rise I hear hurricanes a-blowing I know the end is coming soon I fear rivers over flowing I hear the voice of rage and ruin Well don't go around tonight Well it's bound to take your life There's a bad moon on the rise, all right Hope you got your things together Hope you are quite prepared to die Looks like we're in for nasty weather One eye is taken for an eye Well don't go around tonight Well it's bound to take your life There's a bad moon on the rise Don't come around tonight Well it's bound to take your life There's a bad moon on the rise

@TheDarkSide added: “Kind of Blue" https://www.causes.com/comments/1518469 We should have a fair amount of non-vocal music in the playlist. Second "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis. https://youtu.be/8uUCIQ50e- I pretty much would second Miles' entire discography. Kind of Blue is considered an outstanding album. I am partial to "In a Silent Way." I would add music by John Coltrane especially the albums with the sheets of sound and “overblowing” of the Sax by Coltrane and one time sideman Pharaoh Sanders. Start with "A Love Supreme." I don't listen to enough Classical Music to recommend music reflecting these tumultuous times. I have a new group to recommend. It is a Siberian Aboriginal Pop Group, Otyken. They are edgy. They use traditional Siberian instruments. They sing in Russian and Khakas. Some of the singing uses a technique referred to somewhat erroneously as "throat singing; " it is the same or very similar to Nepalese / Tibetan Overtone Singing / Chanting. As I listened in dismay last night to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.'s imbecilic, irresponsible diatribe about vaccinations and Adolf Hitler, I found myself thinking about the old Dion song "Abraham, Martin, and John" and "my old friend Bobby," and I could almost hear Martin Luther King, Jr., and John and Robert Kennedy exclaiming, "We died for THIS?"

If Vladamir Putin pulls the trigger on Ukraine, or just as a cautionary tune, I nominate "Red Skies" by The Fixx. A straight 80s Rock song. The Fixx are an English rock band from London, England founded in 1979. Memorable Lines: "Should have taken warning, it's just People mourning Running, hiding, lost You can't find, find a place to go, so it's Red skies at night Red skies at night" Official Music Video https://youtu.be/ZCM4_5uB1ww Lyrics: Red Skies -The Fixx Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night Should have taken warning, it's just People mourning Running, hiding, lost You can't find, find a place to go, so it's Red skies at night Red skies at night Should have taken warning, it's just People ignoring Running, hiding, lost You can't find, find a place to go, so it's Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night Someone's taking over And it look like they're aiming Right at you Someone said we'll be dead by morning Someone cries leaving Red eyes at night (red eyes at night) (Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night) Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night Red skies at night Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Adam Woods / Charles H Barrett / Cyril Curnin / James West-Oram / Peter Greenall Red Skies lyrics © Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC

Atlanta Rhythm Section, "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight": I picked up the paper this morning/And read all the daily blues/The world is one big tragedy/I wonder what I can do/About all the pain and injustice/About all of the sorrow/We're living in a danger zone/The world could end tomorrow/But I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight/ I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight/Tomorrow I might go as far as suicide/But I won't let it bother me tonight.

Frank-001: I guess that I am referring to something locked into my boomer-brain- most likely the original ‘burn, baby burn’. I have never particularly followed particular artists but I can remember songs that I enjoyed for whatever reasons. Thanks for tracking down the artists and similar renditions. … … … When the Beetles did their first US tour and had a show in Cleveland. I was in Junior High, hanging out and semi-dating a young lady whose father was the Cleveland detective assigned to manage their security. He took his camera and took a full 36 picture roll of very good candid and off-stage pictures of the Beetles. I asked him if I could buy copies of the pictures and got the full set of black and white prints. My lovely wife lent the pictures to her sister and when we got them back found that many of the best most candid pictures were missing. My sister-in-law was having financial problems and we surmise that she sold them. I promised my wife that I was not going to go bat-shit crazy over this for the sake of ‘family unity’, but I am still kind of pissed off about this.

@burrkitty not too many people know of Laurie Anderson. I’m a big fan of her early work especially the track O Superman.
