Dear Causes' Friends—
At a recent meeting, I was asked: “What are you thankful for?”
At the Thanksgiving table, the question starts the stomach grumbling. But this question gave me no indigestion—I knew the answer, and said it immediately:
“Our users.”
What am I thankful for? I’m thankful for you.
Thank you for your opinions, your questions, your comments, your activism.
Thank you for making the not-always-easy effort to stay informed—and for fighting that urge to disengage from our increasingly-polarized political environment.
Thank you for listening to new perspectives, and for weighing in with the openness and civility that our democracy desperately needs.
You’re building civic awareness and responsibility into your daily lives, one action at a time. And that's the best holiday tradition of all.
On behalf of me, democracy, and America: thank you. You are the antacid settling the stomach of this great nation.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Bart

I’m thankful that I can still call, text and write my friends and family; and they can still call, text and write me. May everyone please stay safe, well and live in Peace. Except those that approve of Trump, Trumpublicans, and the destruction of Democracy. You assholes can absolutely fuck off & die! No one has any use for you. I’m kinda surprised you losers haven’t already ended things by now. That’s what losers & cowards like you typically do, but Hey!, maybe you’re waiting for Christmas to take your dirt naps. Just know one thing: NO ONE WILL MISS YOU! Well, bye.
I’ve come to realize @causes only purpose in life is as a content gatherer, with a side of the user being able to contact their reps. However, you’ve moved away from issues that constituents want to contact their reps on, and focused mainly on whatever your polling needs are. Every time I come here, there is no way to use your site for my needs anymore. Nothing useful or relevant on issues in the feed to respond to.
I just love the ability to contact my representatives or not. I am also very thankful that the nightly news is focusing on issues and not that incompetent looser of an impeached last president who probably would not have been elected in the first place without Russian interference in our national election.
I am thankful for Jesus, country and family.
Thankful for normal friends and family.
Thank you for the opportunity to continue to be an Activist in this time of dire need of reality in the midst of lies, warped realities, and inexcusable actions to tear down our Great Country! Thank you very much! It and you are greatly appreciated!
The song, “What A Wonderful World," part of American culture for decades, speaks to appreciation and gratitude much, much better than I can write. Louis Armstrong sang the classic version. The lyrics are below. (Video of Armstrong singing) https://youtu.be/VqhCQZaH4Vs (Video with scrolling, karaoke-style lyrics) https://youtu.be/A3yCcXgbKrE "Despite the numerous heartbreaking things that happen around us on a daily basis, the song’s lyrics try to make the listener understand that despite the ugly part of the world, the world also has beautiful side that is totally worth appreciating." https://www.songmeaningsandfacts.com/meaning-wonderful-world-louis-armstrong/ *** What A Wonderful World *** Songwriters: Bob Thiele / George Douglas / George Weiss I see trees of green Red roses too I see them bloom For me and you And I think to myself What a wonderful world I see skies of blue And clouds of white The bright blessed day The dark sacred night And I think to myself What a wonderful world The colors of the rainbow So pretty in the sky Are also on the faces Of people going by I see friends shaking hands Saying how do you do They're really saying I love you I hear babies cry I watch them grow They'll learn much more Than I'll ever know And I think to myself What a wonderful world Yes, I think to myself What a wonderful world Ooh, yes Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Bob Thiele / George Douglas / George Weiss What a Wonderful World lyrics © BMG Rights Management, Round Hill Music Big Loud Songs, Tratore, Concord Music Publishing LLC
Thankful to be alive. For all the wonderful people in my life. For all the opportunities I’ve been afforded. For nature and all its complexities. And more.☺️
Wishing all of you a healthy, happy, bountiful Thanksgiving! We have so much to be grateful for…including this platform.
I am thankful for “Causes”; I appreciate being kept informed. I am thankful for family and friends, and the many freedoms afforded me by the Constitution! I am especially grateful to be aware of what I have. A home with a floor instead of dirt, windows instead of open holes, heating and air, electricity, and running water, hot and cold. I have food to eat and clothes to wear. Many in this country have no idea how lucky they are!
I am thankful for everything. Life is short. Friend, family, acquaintance, people I worked with, the students I taught, the opportunities I had, my spouse I am with, the people that have different opinions and views, the country I live in, the healthcare I have, there are so many thing to be thankful for in life, some only reflect on the negative things and not the positive thing. It’s Life in general!. We don’t appreciate what we have in life and the people, but take things for granted. So many are homeless or poor, not only in this country, but in others. I am not wealthy or well off, just ok. My father said “it can not get so bad, that it can’t get worse or it can’t be so good, that it can’t get better”. Sort of looking at haft full or haft empty.
Oh Leslie your comment is so perfect! Thank you so much! Causes does help us all to be better informed and Jim is a great resource for thoughtful and thorough discussions!!!
