Arizona GOP Asks if Trump Supporters Are Willing to Die to Overturn Election Results - 'Are You'?
So... "Are you"?
What's the story?
- The Arizona Republican Party has asked its followers if they are willing to fight to the death for the cause of overturning the presidential election results.
- The party's official Twitter account on Monday night shared this post:
- The Arizona Republic reported that in a follow-up tweet, which has since been deleted, the party included a clip from "Rambo" with the quote:
"This is what we do, who we are. Live for nothing, or die for something."
- A number of users replied they were indeed willing to give their lives to the cause.
- Gov. Doug Ducey (R) did not address the comments directly, but wrote:
"The Republican Party is the party of the Constitution and the rule of law. We prioritize public safety, law & order, and we respect the law enforcement officers who keep us safe. We don’t burn stuff down. We build things up."
- Arizona has certified President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in the state. There is no evidence of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, according to officials in most states - including Arizona - and U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr.
