II. KNOW THE DATES
Remember - Instead of using traditional polling places where voters go to cast ballots on election day, a ballot is mailed to each registered Oregon voter. The ballot is then marked and returned to the county election office to be counted.
Primary Election - May 21, 2024
Voter Registration Deadline

April 30, 2024 - Deadline to register to vote online.
- Mail-in registrations must also be postmarked by this date.

Ballot Request Deadlines
- At least 45 days before each Election Day, ballots are mailed to U.S. citizens who are active members of the Uniformed Services, the Merchant Marine, the commissioned corps of the Public Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, their family members, and U.S. citizens residing outside the United States.
- A signed ballot can be faxed or emailed if the voter completes and returns a Secret Ballot Waiver Form.
Ballot Return Deadline
- May 21, 2024 - Ballots must be received by your county elections office by 8 p.m. and postmarked by Election Day.

Ballot Request Deadlines
- All active registered voters are automatically mailed an official ballot approximately two weeks before Election Day.
- Ballots will be mailed to military and overseas voters at least 45 days before Election Day. A signed ballot can be faxed or emailed if the voter completes and returns a Secret Ballot Waiver Form.
Ballot Return Deadlines
- November 5, 2024, at 8 p.m. - Final day to postmark voter registration forms.
- Oregon strongly recommends mailing overseas ballots through overseas U.S. Post Office branches.

IV. WHERE TO VOTE
Polling Location:
- Use the Oregon Secretary of State's My Vote website to find where to drop your ballot.
V. WHAT TO TAKE TO THE POLLS
Voter ID Laws:
- When registering to vote, a voter must provide his or her driver's license or state ID card number.
- You only need ID when registering to vote or updating your voter information.
- If you do not have an Oregon driver's license, permit, or ID card, you can still use the online voter registration application. The information you enter will be displayed on a voter registration card (PDF document) that you must print, sign, and deliver to your county elections office to complete your registration.
