Voter Registration Deadline

April 23, 2024 - Final day for online voter registration.
- Maryland offers same-day registration in person on Election Day.
Absentee Ballots Deadlines

Ballot Request Deadlines
- May 7, 2024 - Final day to apply for an absentee ballot to be mailed to you.
- May 10, 2024 - Last day to apply for an absentee ballot sent to your email.
- May 14, 2024 - Final day to request a mail-in ballot in person.
Ballot Return Deadline
- May 14, 2024 - Last day for voted ballots to be postmarked or received in person by your local board of elections.
General Election - November 5, 2024
Voter Registration Deadline

October 15, 2024 - Final day for online voter registration.
- Voters may register and vote at their polling places on Election Day.
Absentee Ballot Deadlines
Ballot Request Deadlines
- October 29, 2024 - Final day to apply for an absentee ballot to be mailed to you.
- November 1, 2024 - Last day to apply for an absentee ballot to be sent to your email.
- November 5, 2024 - Final day to request a mail-in ballot in person.
Ballot Return Deadlines
- November 5, 2024 - Absentee ballots must be postmarked or delivered by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Military and overseas citizens can vote by mail using the standard procedure. Ensure your ballot is postmarked by Election Day.

Voter ID Laws
- Maryland requires a photo identification for first-time voters only.
Accepted Credentials
- Here is the list of accepted credentials.
- Contact your local board of elections for an acceptable list of options.
Don't have a valid ID?
- Once you have registered to vote, no further voter ID is required to vote in Maryland, except for some first-time voters.
