Congress to Vote on Restoring Net Neutrality
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
What’s the story?
- Congress will vote next week on restoring net neutrality.
- Using the Congressional Review Act (CRA), forty-eight senators, led by Ed Markey (D-MA), have forced their fellow senators to go on record as either supporting or opposing net neutrality protections.
- Meanwhile, the Federal Communications Commission gave notice on Thursday that the 2015 Open Internet Order – which prohibited internet service providers (ISPs) from blocking or slowing certain websites or charging additional fees to visit other sites – will formally end on June 11. This will officially repeal net neutrality protections and allow ISPs to block or slow websites as long as they disclose the practice.
What do you think?
Sen. Markey tweeted:
Do you want your senator to be #OneMoreVote? Or do you support the net neutrality rollback? Hit Take Action and tell your reps to be one more – or less – vote. Then share your comments below.
