SCOTUS Allows Trump Travel Ban to Go into Full Effect
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
What’s the story?
The Supreme Court is allowing full enforcement of President Donald Trump’s latest travel ban on six Muslim-majority nations.
Why does it matter?
The ban prevents citizens from Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen from entering the U.S. Lower courts had ruled that people with a "bona fide" relationship with someone in the U.S. – like grandparents and cousins – could not be kept out of the country.
This latest ruling, however, prevents all travel from citizens of the six countries.
While the case hasn’t yet reached the Supreme Court, the ruling allows the ban to go into effect while the legal challenges make their way through lower courts.
What do you think?
Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor dissented—do you share their dissent? Or do agree the ban should go into full effect? Hit Take Action, tell your reps, then share your thoughts below.
