We Want To Know: What's Your Voting Story?
Join us and spread the word to your community
What’s the story?
Tuesday’s election was historic, given the diversity of candidates that were elected, but it was important in other ways, too. Following concerns about election hacking, Virginia eliminated use of all touch-screen voting machines. Also, former felons voted for the first time in Virginia. And reports surfaced, as they seem to every election, of robocalls going out to voters telling them their polling place had changed, when it hadn’t.
Why does it matter?
Trust in the electoral process is essential to our democracy. Voting should be straightforward and accessible. Participation should be encouraged.
We want to hear from you, CountaCitizens. How was voting for you in Tuesday’s election, or in any recent election? Do you feel confident in the process? Are you running into any trouble getting to the polls? Did you vote for the first time or return to voting after a hiatus and why?
For inspiration, we give you Theodore Dortch, who voted for the first time ever in Virginia on Tuesday. Were you a proud "I Voted" sticker wearer like Theodore yesterday?
