This Week in Congress: Nominations & Developing America’s Water Infrastructure
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
After last week’s focus on the contentious confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, the Senate is set to take up a bipartisan bill this week to authorize water infrastructure projects for two years before moving on to a slate of nominations.
The Senate will start its week Tuesday with a vote to limit debate on the bipartisan water infrastructure development bill, which would authorize improvements to ports, locks, dams, flood protection, and inland waterways through fiscal year 2020. A passage vote could come as early as Tuesday depending on how much of the 30 hours of post-cloture debate senators choose to use.
Senators will then move on to procedural votes on the nominations of two assistant attorneys general, and an assistant secretary of defense before confirmation votes later in the week. After that, the Senate may consider a slate of judicial nominations, including one circuit court judge and eight district court judges.

Schedule subject to change. All times Eastern.
