Farenthold Resigning After Years Of Inappropriate Behavior

What’s the story?
Remember when Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) got caught on a hot mic laughing over Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX) saying he’d challenge her to a duel if she were only a man? Turns out that was only the tip of the iceberg in regards to Farenthold’s inappropriate behavior in Congress, much of which was detailed today by the Washington Post.
Though they left out the dueling threats, which seems a shame.
Since his campaign days, when pictures of him in pajamas with lingerie models surfaced, to the 2010 discovery of his ownership of the domain www.blow-me.org, as well as the recent revelation of $84,000 in taxpayer funds paid to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit with a former staffer, Farenthold has been a problematic member of the GOP conference for years.
Then Wednesday night CNN broke an exclusive report, detailing stories by a former male staffer of his experience working for Farenthold in a workplace rife with harassment and sexually demeaning behavior directed at him and other aides.
Farenthold admitted to engaging in "inappropriate" behavior in the workplace, but insisted it was all “in jest”.
The CNN story was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Farenthold announced Thursday following closed door meetings with Speaker Paul Ryan that he would not seek re-election, leaving Congress at the end of his term. Many are calling for him to resign sooner.
No one’s checked the mics to see if Collins is still laughing, but it’s a strong bet.
What do you think?
Should Farenthold work out the rest of his term or resign immediately?
