Key dates:
May 2017: after being briefed by Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein on the Russia investigation, Graham says, "It was a counterintelligence investigation before now. It appears to me now to be considered a criminal investigation."
However, Graham also says he believes the appointment of a special counsel to investigate Russia’s meddling in the election will hamper the House and Senate intelligence committee investigations.
August 2017: Graham and Democratic Sen. Cory Booker (N.J.) introduce legislation that would require a judge to approve a Justice Department request to fire Mueller or any other special counsel.
