What's Congress Voting On? Week of October 30, 2017

The Senate will kickoff the congressional work week Monday with several votes on judicial nominations, one to confirm a district judge for Washington D.C. and two to begin debate on nominees to the Third and Sixth Circuit Courts of Appeal. The rest of the Senate’s schedule for the week is yet to be announced.
The House convenes on Tuesday with natural resources the legislative focus, including bills to give South Carolina representation on the Peanut Standards Board and to establish a vegetation management pilot program to protect utility infrastructure from wildfire. Wednesday will feature votes on bills to allow for the active management of national forests to reduce the risk of wildfire and disease, and to revoke the U.S. passports and visas belonging to members of terror groups. Thursday and Friday will be focused on legislation to repeal Obamacare’s Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), and a yet to be released bill to reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
