What’s Congress Voting On? Week of September 11, 2017
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
The House will convene on Tuesday this week after cancelling Monday’s votes over the weekend because of Hurricane Irma because it wasn’t clear that members from the southeast would be able to travel to Washington, DC.
When it does start its work week, the House will consider a number of bills related to homeland security such as bills to bar from entry or deport foreign nationals who are members of criminal gangs, and to study the use of virtual currencies like Bitcoin by terror groups. It will also vote to pass an appropriations package that it spent much of last week debating amendments for.
The Senate is currently scheduled to convene on Monday, when a vote to start debate on a bill to set defense spending levels for fiscal year 2018 is expected. Its schedule for the rest of the week is yet to be announced.
Check here throughout the week to see the vote results and updates to the schedule.
Schedule subject to change. All times Eastern.
