Why is this campaign important to you?
I love Oakland! Lived here most of my life, as a student and a teacher. I've traveled different places, across the U.S. and abroad, but always come back here. There is great beauty here, as well as the ugly. I think we all can do something to reduce the ugly parts that permeate parts of our city. There are many positive ways to do so. We should all try and make a change for the good, if you have any love for this town.

Because this is my city and I am proud to be a part of it. Our youth must live in an environment that is clean, safe and one that will afford them opportunity to be all that they can be. I and my friends understand the meaning of "if you are not part of the solution you are indeed a part of the problem".
As an OAKLAND educator and former/future citizen, it is my responsibility to do what I can to make our Town shine as brilliantly as do it's children! We love our Town and demand the respect we have always deserved!
I respect anyone, anywhere actually trying to make a difference...the non-violence pledge is the only way, I took an oath of non-violence years ago and agree that it is the only way. Bless Up!
