I really admire what you are all trying to do here and I agree that we need to take steps to stop harming the Earth. Young people are very idealistic and I think that's great. However, unless you are prepared to never drive or be driven in a car, it is difficult to justify the cause you are supporting. If not fossil fuels, then what? Nuclear energy is one answer, and I suspect you might not want that either. Have you heard of James Lovelock, scientist, environmentalist, etc. He has written...

Have you heard of James Lovelock, scientist, environmentalist, etc. He has written several books on Gaia (Earth) and the heating and cooling cycles it goes through. I know wikipedia is not always completely correct but this will give you an idea of his books and ideas. He's well-known in the debate.

I live near the Border of Michigan and Canada. Everyone has this problem and it is from the toxins that are released to drift across the Saint Claire River by the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, the factory is killing the Reservations.

The city is trying to control the sale of an old Edison Port. Control of profits and councils are in an argument of what this is going to be worth to the citizens of the area.

Many cancers are reported in the children from the water. I have read article after article as headline to the Times Herald. Why ? Because one night the Factory had an explosion and the sound wave traveled so fast it shattered the glass and I felt the wind sweep over my head. My daughter lay in the crib that night and now we are warned more of Crib death than the truth of this TOXIN.

Oh, and then they invited the general public to come for a tour if they wanted. So, God blessed this mess and the whole trucking industry has a bridge that has Orders of food and delay.

This cause is essential for our UC system to get back to its main objective of providing fair public high education. The UC system is failing us as students by using funds that could be used for financial aid & the numerous of services on campus that are helpful for succeeding in school. By allowing the UC system to invest millions in the fossil fuel industry, we are allowing injustice to happen to our campus.

Scientists estimate that humans can pour roughly 565 more gigatons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and still have some reasonable hope of staying below two degrees. Computer models calculate that even if we stopped increasing CO2 levels now, the temperature would still rise another 0.8 degrees above the 0.8 we’ve already warmed, which means that we’re already 3/4s of the way to the 2 degree target and we need to act now and divestment is a tactful tool in targeting the fossil fuel...

The fossil fuel industry is a complex syndicate of corporate criminals responsible for unimaginable crimes against humanity. The human suffering caused by oil spills, fracking, ozone depletion, air pollution, water pollution, droughts, famines, and other catastrophic events, could be prevented. This is one part of a larger movement to change the profit>people ideology that has driven Westward expansion into the "Americas" and spread imperialism and colonization over the entire globe. yup

Global warm is a reality which gets worst every year we ignore it. To save ourselves and the planet we must stop this addiction of fossil fuels and strive for a renewable energy future and sustainability.

Things can not change unless we do.

We only have 1 world to live in right now. Not on Mars, not on Saturn, not in far reaches of known/unknown galaxies: HERE! Oil/oil products should be totally removed from our plane. We CAN SURVIVE! One day, our planet will end. We do not have to accelerate our demise, before we find Earth 2/Earth 3/Earth 4, for our future generations. We are the best for our world. We are the worse for our world. Our world is now at our ultimate crossroads: LIVE, or, DIE!
