Pits are such sweet, loyal, loving dogs. They are what you train them to be. It's people that need to change. I have loved the pits that have been in my life. This is wrong. Please take it off!

My pitty mix loves my 8 year old and 3 year old, she means the world to the 8 year old. Princess Luna sleeps by their feet at night and licks them up every morning for school. She is very careful not to trip on the 3 year old, shows so much affection to all of us. This family has been happier since her arrival from our local rescue group. We trully LOVE OUR PITBULL!

My wife and I got him as a pup and raised him to be obedient and caring and still having his own personality. I was raised with Staffordshires my whole life with my parents and although they are not a Pitbull they are generally mistaken for them by people who have no understanding of dogs and that unfortunately believe what is told in the media. I was raised with Staffordshires my whole life with my parents and although they are not a Pitbull they are generally mistaken for them by people who have no understanding of dogs and that unfortunately believe what is told in the media. All I know after a life time of being around and raising Staffordshires (and Pitbulls) is that it is most definitely how the dog is raised that determines the outcome of how the dog will behave. Of course like all breeds there will always be a percentage that will just be aggressive but as I said this is present in all breeds of dog not just the Pitbull or Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I know first hand what it is like to be attacked by a dog as I was mauled by a German Sheppard when I was 7 and I guess it is just luck and my personality that has made me see beyond the breed of dog and look at the situation and the owner behind it. Anyway hopefully this petition will get through to the right people and something can be done to help them.
I totally agree with you. Even a small Shih Tzu can be mean and bite everybody it comes in contact with if it is raised and taught to do that just like a Pit Bull or any other muscular, large dog can be a big baby, very loving and gentle. It's a lot like how a child is raised...to be good and work for the Lord or be bad and do the devils work.
This page and others like it should never be allowed to exist. No animal deserves to be hated. They are innocent. Humans make them what they are. Perhaps the perpetrators of such sick actions should be removed from the gene pool. Or sterilised so THEY can't reproduce! Nah....just euthanize human rubbish rather.

I love my dog and she is a great dog she is a pit mix and as it has been said there is no bad dog just idiot owners.....
