They join the military knowing they have a chance of never going home, yet they sign up, go through intense training then go out there to fight for OUR FREEDOM!!!!

how come your not out there fighting ,are you a coward,I served in the British Army but I''M NOT OUT THERE FIGHTING,do''s that make me a coward.

Ken Johnstone

and i didnt see Bush n BLAIR being heroic, bleeding war criminals

Our armed forces are all individuals who put their lives on the line to make the world a better, safer place for us all. Many are maimed, many lose their lives, so that we can be free to open such crass pages on Facebook to prove how insensitive and thoughtless we are! Why do people feel the need to cause pain and suffering to those already going through torment?

this cause is very important to me because I am a disabled veteran, proudly served in the US Navy, now retired 19 yrs. I have many friends who have become or were disabled at the time I was in 1994 and now the numbers have grown exponentialy & I as a disabled veteran will & must support my fellow veterans until the day I die!

Bryan Gifford

I am 40% disabled through the va from a back injury.

Ken Johnstone

well said Mr HANSHAW,and all Vets n those serving will agree with you,As a disabled brit veteran,i have a special interest in your Nuclear Test vets,as i served on Christmas island during the BRITISH nuclear tests in the mid 50s and have suffered ill health ever since, just like my American counterparts, theres not many of us left now

We sign or names and raise our hands in service to our country knowing we have a chance of never coming home. But we do it not for ourselves but instead for the people that can't or won't for whatever their reason is. We do it so every American can sleep soundly at night and don't have to worry bout things like 9/11 happening again. We gladly leave are families and friends for months and years at a time because as long as we take the fight to them they don't have the chance to bring it to us.

Ken Johnstone

Lets not forget that the lads n lassies were sent to war on a bunch of lies

All the men & women who serve in war zones in the forces will always be hero`s in my eyes, the person who says they are not should be made to be sent there to find out for his self.Proud of all serving personel.

Hans D. Bott

Well, let us send OBAMA there, but he will learn nothing !!!

Ken Johnstone

Along with Bush n Blair ye??

OUR GOAL WAS TO GO OVER THERE AND KILL 2 PEOPLE AND WE DID THAT.SO WHY ARE WE STILL THERE AND WHY ARE OUR HUSBANDS AND WIVES, SISTER, AND BROTHERS AND AUNT'S AND UNCLE'S STILL DYING????
GET RID OT THE POLITIONS AND LET US HAVE AMERICA BACK!!

the goal of the yanks n the brits was to take control of saddams oil n they didnt care what it would cost in the blood of our combined miltary

I have family members that are currently in the military as well as vets and friends as well. they are putting their lives on the line for our country and our freedom. Anyone who says that these brave men and women are not heroes need a serious reality check!

Pedro Gomez

You know the person who wrote "soldiers aren't heroes" is just an ungrateful, cynical egotistical moron. if soldiers really were evil and Nazi-like would they really let him say something like that on a large scale media network ?

Ken Johnstone

being a British vet,i wholeheartedly agree PEDRO,its the politicians that start the conflicts who are usually millionaires,n dont mind spilling the blood of 'other peoples sons n daughters, brothers ,sisters husbands n wives,Wake up you Yanks n smell the

I'm a veteran.
