MY SISTER HAS ADDISONS!

I have Addison's Disease and fight every day to continue living my life as normal as I can. I also have 5 other auto-immune diseases, fibro, spinal stenosis, central sleep apenea due to all the medication and several pain disorders. A few weeks ago a man told me he didn't believe I was disabled. The "but you look good you can't be that sick" attitude. Addison's is so under researched in the US and so few physicians even know what it is, for me a trip to the ER means having to explain to the ER Doc how to treat me, what tests to do and what Addison's actually is. I have to travel over 140 miles round trip to find a physician who can treat my Addisons and he is retiring soon. I'm in crisis now and all I can do is pray it does not get worse. Susan you are right, its a horrible, VERY scary disorder for both the person who has it and those who care about them. When my husband found me passed out and unable to respond to him yesterday he was terrified. We need answers and physicians who know how to treat us.
