This cause is very important! My family has always had rescue dogs and one we have had has hit me the most. He was a rottweiler that lived 2 houses down from the breeder. The people she gave him to just up and left there house and left him behind. When he wondered to her house he had been so emaciated that you could see every single bone in his body. when she gave him to us that night he was the most loving and compassionate dog and i litterally cried because i could not understand for the life of me why someone would want to hurt him or any animal they are just like children!! Well when we took him to the vet he told us that on a scale of 1-10 he was emaciated at about 10 he weighed only 17 pounds when he should have easily been 50-70 pounds. He was infested with heart worm which took several months to get rid of and because of him being left behind to die, he suffered severe separation anxiety and broke the living room window surprisingly with no cuts or bruises. He is a great dog and has a wondefull new home with a women and children and a husband who serves our country in the Army!!! He's at the weight he needs to be and is doing great!!!! I beleive that orginizations like this are great and they give a voice to the animals that deserve all the love we can give!!!!!!

This cause means alot to me and this is why.My husband and I had taken in a female puppy she is half terrior and pitt bull.He was unable to keep her because she had pitt in her.He told us she was abused very badly by her previous owners and she was badly infested with fleas from the pound he got the pup from.We took her home with us at first she was very scared and didnt do anyhting but lay in her puppy bed.we also noticed she wasnt eating or drinking very well so we took her to the vet.We named the pup Mya she weighed 7lbs her gums were so white and no color at all,her iron count was 10 and her iorn count was suppose to be 30 or 40,she was infestedd with fleas and hook worms. We got all the medicin from the vet that we would need to help mya,we also got her soft puppy food with a high count of liver in it to help bring her iorn count up.Mya had a vet apt. on monday she now weighs 12lbs her gums are the normal color that they are suppose to be.She no longer has the hook worms or fleas and finally is starting to play and act like a puppy is suppose to act.I feel so greatful and happy that we took in Mya and she is now a permanit member of our family

My husband I have resuced and fed so many strays. we currently have two dogs...fully a part of the family. I have a birthday wish (my 50th) cause postd on my wall for contributions to the ASPCA...and my reasons for beleiving in them. If anyone can...please visit my wall and contribute. Anything will be great. Thanks and a special thanks to all you animal livers that understand that pets need and require our love. They are gods gift to us and we should treat them with kindness at all times (no matter how much they are silly).

I have 7 cats and one dog. All my cats were either ones that I rescued off the street or I adopted from the shelter. My dog was also a rescue that someone dumped in my parking lot at work. It is a struggle but they have the best care and a good home for the rest of their lives. I wish that if someone is not going to take care of an animal then do not have one. It is just like having a child you have to feed and take care of them. The joy they bring to my life is tremendous. They are great listeners and know when I need a kitty hug.
