I was over at my Boyfriend's moms place and their naighbors started to beat their Pit Bull, and I mean overly beat this dog, you could hear how hard he was being beat in the dogs lungs.
I heard something going on so I looked out the window and to see that Killed me! I never want to see something like that ever again. You know you're an animal lover/protecter when you can see someone you don't even know beat a dog you have no connection to and feel as though they were beating you. We called the cops but they did nothing about it.
I personally feel that the man should be arrested and the dog should be taken away, no dog in ANY situation should be treated like that, or any animal for that matter.
That scene will forever haunt me.

1. To Stop Cruelty To Animals
I believe that people that abuse animals are sick enough in their head, and twisted enough to harm people. Therefore I think people that do it should be examined so that they don't pose a threat to society. I could give a care about the actual animal; they are here for our enjoyment. If people have perverted ways of enjoying their pets; that's on them, as long as it doesn't carry on to people.
2. To End Shelter Cruelty
What is this? Does this mean that the Doggie Hilton is out of towels again, and so we have to call the ASPCA to come shut them down? Please. The beasts are lucky to be off the street!
3. To Stop Killing Shelter Animals
The only reason I JOINED the ASPCA group was because I know for a fact the ASPCA does put down so many dogs and cats in a responsible fashion in all major cities in the US, with the exception of one or two some do-gooder has clogged up the system by preventing them from doing so. We would be drowning in an urban sea of diseased stray animals if the ASPCA did not euthanize and thin out the populations of strays.
People are confused about how to manage this situation and get wrapped up in sentimentality. There are lots of unwanted animals around and there will ALWAYS be more. Without euthanasia, there would not be enough resources to feed them, much less ourselves!
4. To Prevent Circus Cruelty
High ticket prices got you down? I don't know what else they could be referring to...
5. To put an end to Backyard Breeders
I agree emphatically on this point. Eviction/seizure with fines and jail time!
6. To end the Declawing, Ear Clipping, and Tail Clipping of Animals for unnecessary reasons.
"Unnecessary reasons?" Well that's a bit vague but "yes."
7. To put an end to Animal Neglect
A sharp needle; ah what a relief it is! Waste not want not...
8. To Stop Puppy Mills/ Dog fighting
Dog fighting is very entertaining. Cock fighting even moreso. Burn the puppy mills to the ground however. Only the finest purebred dogs and cocks should fight!
9. To End CRUEL Dog Racing
But not ALL dog racing, which is also great fun and can mean a tidy profit with the right bets placed on the right animals.
10. To END Factory Farming
Amen! These are creatures with a certain majesty, and should be bred with a certain respect for their place on this Earth, not churned out like cogs or industrial products.
11. To End fear of Pit Bulls (Trained and healthy pit bulls are great dogs)
Right!
12. To End Debarking Surgery
Wrong! No bark is a good bark. If the dog needs to notify me of something, it can jolly well nose me in the side, or paw at my leg, or ring the bell I have on its collar. Barking, dreadful barking at all hours of the day. I can't stand it. And no I don't own dogs; that's almost completely my point. Cats do not bark, for which I am immensely grateful.
That's it in summary. Perhaps you think I'm alittle too simple in my thinking. I consider my thinking to be highly effective however, and many experienced animal handlers might agree with my points, except one or two there. Anyway, I'm thinking this group is not the right place for me anymore, but I wish the ASPCA well and hope it continues its mission to remove the suffering of unwanted pets and reducing the stray population in the most humane ways possible.

These ridiculously expensive cats (one of which I have rescued, and talked to numerous veterinarians about) also have extensive health and behavioral problems (ie: very serious digestive issues, shorter lives, not using litter boxes, etc.). Humans should stay out of the breeding aspect and let nature do her job! When humans interfere with nature they can cause detrimental effects to the animals themselves! Stop breeding; go to your SPCA or Humane society because those animals need love and good homes and they deserve it. Don't support breeders please! Be informed!

Mr. Jackson,
I am very sorry for the inconvenience you've experienced working with this unaffiliated Cause. Jason Harmon is not affiliated in any way with the ASPCA. Facebook Causes is an application anyone can use. It is created with good intentions to donate to your favorite organizations. Unfortunately, we cannot control those that may abuse the application on our behalf.
We have our official website, fan pages and causes.
Official ASPCA Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/aspcateam
Official ASPCA Cause is here: http://apps.facebook.com/causes/106 75/12630321?fb_page_id=7191206138&m =6d54c0aa.
Official ASPCA website is here: http://www.aspca.org.
In addition, we do have official photo contests as well. We currently have a cat photo contest until June 30 in honor of Adopt a Shelter Cat Month: http://www.aspca.org/adoption/adopt -a-shelter-cat-month/ascm-photo-con test.html. Adopt a Shelter Dog occurs in October.
Again, please accept my sincere apologies. We'd be happy to send you an ASPCA ball cap to ease the sting of this situation as we truly appreciate your frustration. We hope very much that you will continue to support the ASPCA lifesaving efforts but also understand if this has left you less than satisfied with the outcome.
Respectfully,

I wish you would of responded to my e-mails ( you know what I am talking about). I have emailed the ASPCA to voice my dissapointment as well. I just wished you would of done the right thing. It's too bad. This just make me a bit more untrustworthy of sites like this. I will not let this affect my efforts to support the ASPCA and the MSPCA for the good work that they do. You should of been a better representitive of the ASPCA. I wish you the best of luck in your job and in life. I hope this make you think.
