South Africa needs to implement the shoot to kill policy asap.We have to protect what we have got.Maybe a relocation program, although costly,to guarded havens might stem the poachers, for now.Although a short term solution it is,pressure has to be put on the markets where rhino horn is being traded.Life-time sentences have to be imposed on the actual king-pins!

Where the fuck is their military??? They need to HUNT THE POACHER'S DOWN JUST LIKE WE DID OSAMA!!!

14 in 24 hrs This is a country wide syndicate getting the better of us. We really need to step up and get a better plan, Increase donations????

Have just come back from a trip to Botswana. Speaking to tourists there 100 % of them felt that politicians in our country were gaining from this slaughter. In China if you are found with any Panda part you are put to death. The same should apply here.

Piet De Wolf

yes but the problem is China cares for Pandas but don't for Rhinos because their small penis won't work without Harry Potter's magical Horn powder !!! Try to Boycott Chinese goods and try UN action even China got the Veto and i fear it might be too slow against that biggest dictatorship in the world ! of course SA is in the BRICS so it keeps on being silent and take the doughs !

i agree with shooting the poachers but they are the symptom , we need stop the cause and that is the people buying the horn with their silly beliefs the more people get richer in the eastern countries the more they can afford to sponsor these stupid beliefs for themselves and until this problem is addressed it will just carry on and when the Rhinos are gone they will find some other way to satisfy their stupid beliefs

Population control is the answer. Where there are too many people, all life becomes cheap.

Yes. A massive sterilization campaign needs to take place! ( Muti in their mealie meal! )

Rita Lemkuil

That's what I've been saying all along. We need a HUMAN spay and neuter program! THERE ARE JUST TOO FUCKING MANY OF US!!! I don't think ANYONE GETS IT!!!

@Katie and Danushka - fully agree with you, yet it's (population control) is a subject that no-one wants to broach, especially in Africa: cultural- and all that tosh.
I also think the stance taken by the Deputy Speaker of Botswana, ie shoot the bastards, will work. Just a case of a little too late, though.

Poisoning the horns is a good idea - and then they should be painted in fluorescent colours as a warning!

Why can't the department just move ALL these animals to a save place !!?? Yes it will be a Fortune but why not ! We alone are doing nothing to save them !! They need a bigger power then our voices ! The people with power and right should so something !

Denise Cottham

There won't be any to move in the near future. Barbarians!
