Over The Edge For Charity

Posted by William on Oct 8

On October 20th 2009, I am participating in the fundraiser "Over the Edge For Charity" consisting of rappelling from the 6 story building at 600 Old Country Road in Westbury. The event is being held by the Family Residence and Essential Enterprise (FREE) Foundation, dedicated to raising awareness for Children with Autism and Mental Disabilities. I have requested that a portion of the proceeds (25%) go to Schneider Children's Hospital and (25%) the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Deer Park… Read More

Great to see this cause on facebook. I was saved by the oncology department at LIJ when I was a kid. The precursor to the Schneider's Childrens hospital.

Schneider's Expansion to include a pediatric emergency room and trauma center will cost approximately $130,000,000. The economy and unfortunate recent events have caused delays.

We have a chance to improve the revenue. Even a $10 donation will go a long way. Help us be a part of something great to assist in the facility that saves lives.

They are expanding the center and are preparing to start building a 110,000 square foot facility. The NICU and Cancer Center have been revitalized and include state of the art equipment. Our support makes these things happen. Thanks for everyoone's participation and caring efforts!

I had an opportunity to tour the new state of the art NICU before it was opened. Since Schneider is a regional intake center for premature births the facility is usually filled to capacity. It's a comfort to know we have an amazing, nationally ranked children's facility right in our backyard.

I have a friend whose two and a half year old daughter has just been diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately it is in her liver and lungs. Schneiders Childrens hospital has been a god send to my friend. They have not only cared for her little girl but have helped my friend through this horrible journey!!! They continue to care for this beautiful child and I am thankful for all the doctors, nurses, and all the other people that make this hospital a safe place to be when your child is sick. Thank you.

I thank god for the doctors at CSH everyday when I look into my son's now healthy eyes. They are the best when it comes to children and their parents. They treat everyone with such regard and respect. We continue to go for our regular appointments and are so relaxed and confortable. The treat you like family. We are grateful for the staff at CSH and Dr. Gottileb for helping our son through this difficult diease.

My husband & I will forever be indebted to Schneider's Children's Hospital for all that they did for our daughter during her first couple weeks of life. Their Neonatal Intensive Care unit and the nurses and doctors that work there are the best of the best and we will always be grateful to them for everything they did. Their compassion, dedication and experitise was beyond our expectations but ultimately they gave us hope for an outcome that was seemingly unlikely her first couple days of life. They are true miracle workers. Our daughter is now a healthy 5 year old and along with her twin sister continue to receive routine medical care from the doctors at Schneider's. My husband and I truly believe they couldn't be in better hands.
