My son was born @ 27 weeks back in 1978, he weighed 2lbs 4oz. After 1 week @ the Oxford Radcliffe he was sent back to Banbury Horton General Special Care Baby Unit, he was there for 2 months. What an incredible job they did with him, and also for myself and husband. Could never repay them, we now have 3 beautiful granddaughters, who wouldn't be here today if not for the hard work of all the staff involved. We will be for ever indebted to them.

My son was born 10 weeks early! He spent 4 months and 2 days in scbu! He was very poorly and nearly died 7 times! If it wasn't 4 the nursing staff and doctors fantastic work in Royal maternity hospital and Antrim area hospital my son would not be here 2day! He is nine now and an blessing to me! God bless everyone who helped my son 2 survive! Thank you! xx

My Nephew and his wife have two beautiful boy and girl twins who started their life in scbu and are now doing well thanks to the wonderful work the staff, doctors and nurses do, at their local hospital.

Thank you Marie. We count our lucky stars every day for what the staff within SCBU done for our babies, especially Adam who gave us a few frights lol. Xxx

My little girl was born by emergency c-section on 3rd Jan 2010 she was 10 weeks premature, if it weren't for the nurses at the special baby care unit in Blackburn and Burnley she wouldn't be here. she spent 2 months in there and had oxygen for over a year. She is now a bubbly 2 year old. I'd like to thank all the staff that helped her and me.

My son Charlie (now 10) was born at 30 weeks, weighing just 2lbs and 15oz. He suffered a brain haemorrhage at birth and contracted meningitis at 5 days old. I will be forever grateful to the SCBU teams at Halifax and Southampton for the superb level of care he received. He is now a healthy, happy boy who is adored :)

My grandson has only been home from oliver fisher for a few weeks he was looked after by the unit and without them he would not be here xxx.
