Help a Club member to understand that giving is better than receiving…

Thanks to the generosity of the Nash family and volunteers of the Nashua Rotary Club, fifty of our Club members will be receiving a $100 gift card to Walmart (Lowell Road in Hudson)to purchase presents for their families on Monday, December 7, 2009. We are looking for volunteers to assist our Club members with both shopping and wrapping their presents.

The Club members will be leaving the Club and arriving at the Hudson Walmart at 5:30 pm. We are asking all volunteers to meet the bus in Hudson at the Wal-Mart store with the Club members at 5:30 pm. After approximately 45 minutes of shopping using the Club members’ lists, the Club members will return to the Boys & Girls Club at approximately 6:45 pm. to wrap their presents. We ask all volunteers to drive their own cars to the Boys & Girls Club to help wrap the presents with the club members after the bus departs.

Some of the members may want you to take their gifts in your car and meet them back at the club, that’s okay. All club members must return on the bus back to the club, no private cars. The use of a calculator may be handy to track money spent so they do not exceed the $100 dollar gift card. Each club member will also be given an additional $5.oo for them to spend personally. Remember, they are shopping for their family members not for themselves.

We are looking for 25 volunteers, spouses, family members, co-workers, ect. to help make this process rewarding for the 50 Club members who have been selected by the staff to participate. If you are unable to commit to the entire evening, please let us know which part of the process would be of greatest interest to you, as we welcome any time that you are able to use to assist us with this great opportunity.

We are asking volunteers to give only their time, (5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.) Club members will come with their lists and all wrapping paper, bows, and gift tags will be provided at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua.

We thank you for all that you already commit to the Club and wish you a very wonderful holiday season.

Please call 883-0523 ext.214 or email lcaradonna@bgcn.com if you can volunteer, please confirm your participation as well. Thank you!

We did it! The greater Nashua community and our Alumni came together and helped us land a $500,000 challenge grant from the Kresge Foundation for our kids. If you haven't seen our newly renovated Boys & Girls Club, feel free to contact me to arrange a tour. Again I want to thank all our friends alumni that contributed to our Boys & Girls Club renovation project. Kurt "Grover" Norris

Every year the Boys & Girls Club raises money to run the Club’s operations and keep the doors open for our 4,200 kids. This effort is called “It Just Takes One” because it just takes one person to make a difference in a child’s life. Every donor counts and every donation makes a difference. We invite alumni and friends to make a donation to help our Club stay strong for today’s kids. To donate securely online, go to https://secure.bgcn.com/how-to-help/d... or mail your check made out to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua to

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua will be celebrating the 10th Annual Steak and Burger Dinner on Wednesday, April 22, 2009.

The Steak and Burger event is a unique opportunity to measure the success of the Club and its various programs while interacting with 50 deserving Club members and 150 Greater Nashua community and business leaders as well as Club leaders and alumni. Our Club members and staff have prepared a special performance, Dancing with the Stars of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, which should be entertaining for all.

Your support of this year's event will give the Club the resources they need to continue to provide quality programs to the children of the greater Nashua area. To reserve your seats or to sponsor, please contact Denise King at (603) 883-0523 x217 or dking@bgcn.com.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Club over the past 38 years has been to "inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens." In achieving that mission, the Boys & Girls Club serves 4,200 boys and girls from ages 6 to 18 and reaches another 10,000 youngsters in the community through a variety of programs and wholesome activities. These successful programs build character, improve academic performance, instill a moral compass, and support multiple community service projects.

As an added bonus, all attendees will have the opportunity to see the results of our newly completed, state-of-the-art $4 million dollar Teen Center. We look forward to seeing you there.
