It seems clear that the President is using his office for his own economic gain. This bill is obviously needed!

I support S.65 and it's companion bill HR 371, introduced to require the president and VP to disclose and divest financial conflicts of interest. Many suspect that President Trump has conflicts of interest that are not known. I want to be sure that White House actions serve and protect the American people, rather than personally benefit the president. Ask your members of Co guess to cosponsor and support these bills.

This should be a no-brainer. Using the office for personal and family gain is not acceptable.

It's unfortunate that our congress has failed to move this forward. We are now seeing the results play out as it becomes more obvious every day that the president has conflicting business ties with his position in office. If he was at all a person of character he would've put his holdings in a blind trust, and moved on. The fact that he didn't shows a failure to take his new job seriously. He is showing us that his company holdings are still more important. He's not committed to public service, he's just got a hobby. Congress needs to pass this, if anything just to prevent future corruption on any side of the aisle when it comes to the presidency. The executive positions in the US government are positions are one of the highest forms of public service. Please restore that greatness instead of having it be a billionaire's hobby farm.

His tweet regarding Nordstrom hurts their employees livelihoods. Many of whom voted for him. It's an abuse of power and a conflict of interest

Yes to this all similar bills. This is bigger than Donald Trump because it sets a new normalized precedent that it's perfectly fine for elected officials, including the most powerful position in the country, to be possibly compromised by interests that violate the needs of the citizens. This would seemingly negate the entire "for the people" part of our government.

Disclosing tax returns must be a requirement. Conflicts of interest must be eliminated or all actions by the president will be questioned, regardless of merit. Divestiture must be a requirement of taking office.

Trump must separate himself and his family from all conflicts of interest. He is in clear violation of the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution.

The last thing we need as a country is any of our leadership to profit off of their elected position. Elected government positions are for serving the public good, not serving one's private greed.

I support S 65, the Presidential Conflicts of Interest Act, and urge you to vote in favor. A president who is unwilling to fully disclose or divest of his financial interests poses a real and immediate threat to our democracy.
