Gov. Ron DeSantis Launches 2024 Presidential Campaign

Ron DeSantis is quite simply put a Nazi. 

Meh 

backward ideas

attack on women 

attack on education 

picks fights with the happiest place on earth

wears weird white go-go boots

and allegedly eats pudding with his hands

My first thought is that I can't wait for tRump & deSatan to duke it out. It might be fun to watch, if it was just entertainment. Unfortunately, this is real and this is the "best" the Republicans have to offer. (eye roll)

My second thought is that 2016 taught me some profound lessons: the American public is not as smart as I thought they were, the electoral college may be the deciding vote again (the last two, incompetent Republican presidents, did NOT win the popular vote), and presidents matter!!!  The effects of the two previous Republican administrations have had devastating consequences for Americans, most especially the poor and middle class.

My third thought, is that Florida can keep him.

Oh, & Disney (if you're listening), there are other states that would welcome you with open arms!

     Of course DeSantis has the right to run for president.
     However he seems to embrace totalitarianism, attempting to turn George Orwell's dystopian vision of 1984 into reality.  He advocates and authorizes restrictive voting mandates, book banning in public libraries, proscribing reactionary curricula in public schools and publicly funded universities, eliminating a woman's autonomy and ability to control her reproductive health, etc, etc. The FL Surgeon General appointed by DeSantis does not believe in evidence-based medicine. White supremacy seems to be a major cornerstone for DeSantis' policies.
     All this should make it easy to dismiss DeSantis as a viable candidate. What is absolutely terrifying is the amount of support that he and others of his ilk have garnered from the voting public in the US. DeSantis is the 'no-drama' Trump. It is not inconceivable that DeSantis (or Trump) could be the Republican nominee for President.
     How is it that fear-mongering and bullying have taken over rational, compassionate, informed debate on public policy, focusing on actual governance and sustainable actions that support the growth of freedom and democracy? I am fearful for my grandchildren's future.

I like Ron DeSantos but am concerned about some of his political stance.  We need someone younger, more grounded, more reasonable.

Anyone that likes DeSantis's policies should just move to Florida, don't subject the rest of us to this!  Better yet, leave DeSantis in the virtual reality of Twitter space and eventual Twitter bankruptcy!

He's a pathetic example of a human being.

i couldn't care less if he runs for president, just hope the counrty is smart enough not to elect a fascist.

With his track record in Florida, bringing it to the rest of the United States is simply unconscionable. "Banning books gives us silence when we need speech, when we need speech it closes our ears when we need to listen, it makes us blind when we need sight." Also, he seems unaware of what businesses contribute to the economy and more interested in shutting down whatever he disagrees with. He would also endanger LGBTQIA, people of color, and others. He is even more dangerous than Trump. 

I am glad that there will be more than Trump to vote for on the right.

A valid non Trump option for Republicans.

Please America, DO NOT let my governor become president!

Here's one:
Trump is in prison, "very sick," or dead. Who does the base give the nod to DeSantis, Halley, Scott, or someone relatively unknown.

Given the polarization, racism, and misogyny within the what was once the Republican now MAGA Party, DeSantis gets the nomination.  He freaks 70% of American out as a teeny tiny bit too insane.

Uncle Joe wins again.

Extremism is quite attractive to extremists, but most people are more comfortable closer to some convincing platform of moderation.

its one thing to sign a waiver if you are going for the ride ... but if any debris falls on you - guess what they are not liable! 

We have already tried having a right wing radical as president. Will he ban books nationally. What corporations will he go to war with if he doesn't like their opinion. Take a close look at the retirement capital Florida many non professionals work 2 or 3 part time jobs because employer won't hire full time to avoid benefits. 

Sounds like his launch was a hot mess. Guess you can't count on Elon for stable tech.

I don't like DeSantis and I think he's too extreme to win a general election, but I'll happily watch him and Donald go at each other for a year or so. Maybe it will weaken both of them.

I do hope the media spends equal time covering the Democratic presidential nominee, though. No more free media coverage for the GOP.

Florida is experiencing his fascist-leaning policies. 

I wouldn't vote to make him an animal control officer, let alone president.  We thought (or I thought Trump was bad-and he was/is), DeSantis is even worse.  If we want to become another Nazi Germany then voting this joker or Trump, or other MAGA idiots into any public office is one sure way to do it.

We do not need the rest of America to turn  in to FLORIDA DUH !!!!!

Is there any such thing as a moderate republican anymore? Maybe there's one out there somewhere who will be brave enough to run.  I doubt it, though.

I am not interested in Authoritarianism, Fascism, Nazism, or Totalitarianism. 
If I believed in a Totalitarian Government,  neither DeSantis, Scott, nor Trump would be my choice as El Duce or Fuhrer. 

He is wretched,  cruel,  un-American, evil incarnate.

DeSantis is just another Fascist along with Trump trying to destroy our democracy and liberties. He has infected the Republican States with his bigoted and racist ideologies, demeaning Gays and Black people by banning certain books in school and public libraries. He also has individually determined what teachers are permitted to teach in Florida suggesting some topics will indoctrinate the youth but it is in his opinion okay to brain wash them with his disgusting opinions. God help the United States if either Trump or DeSantis become President since their actions are mirroring what occurred in the 1920-30's Germany. 

He is another trump only this one is more vile.  He hates people of color and will not sell any land to the Chinese people.  He posts on display all over his state SWAZTIKAS, YES NAZI SWAZTIKAS.  You know that war in which they tortuered and murdered billions of Jews?  And we sent all of our Grandfathers over there to make them stop and they killed our grandfathers too.Yep that's him.  I don't want him even living here in our country much less being in charge of anything at all within it!  He has made them burn Anne Frank"s Diary and other top notch literature that only Middle School Children do so well with.  Remember the beautiful Black girl poet that read a poem that she wrote for Joe Biden at his inaguation?  Remember how beautiful that was. Someone put it up on a bulletin board in one of their schools in Florida and he tore it down!  He is a sick puppy and shouldn't even be around school kids.  He's the idiot that unseated an entire School Board at one of there public schools down there and put his hand picked people on it.  Public Schools are publically funded by the property tax of the community people and that is one of the reasons that they vote to elect their own school board reps from that very tax based community.  God help the State of Florida, save them from this weak minded Nazi, don't allow him to add to the hate we already have here.!
