Proteger Una Playa Creando Un Bosque Costero En Carolina, Pr

Owen N. Martinez-Sandin, ingeniero civil retirado y planificador urbano y regional (owennmtz@alum.mit.edu).

#Bring Back Our Girls: Stop The Kidnapping Of Girls In Nigeria

I am a Catholic Christian, whose God given-duty is to help the needy, particularly when it concerns the young and forsaken, such as this group of young girls kidnapped in Africa against their will and those of their parents! Am taking the opportunity of sending this message thru the Internet to all my friends and relatives. Sincerely in Christ, Owen N. Martinez-Sandin, resident of Vega Baja, PR. 00693.

Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal Petition

I was born in Vega Baja, PR, in Dec. 29, 1928, and raised there in deep appreciation for the Puerto Rican culture! Later I studied in local schools and civil engineering at the Mayaguez CAAM College. After graduation, worked with the PR govt. in highway survey and design, before being drafted into the U.S Army during the Korean War. After the war, using my GI Bill rights and a PR, govt. scholarship studied city and regional planning at the Univ. of P.R, (School of Public Adm.), MIT and Harvard and completed my M.C.P. in 1960 at MIT. Went back to PR to comply with my duties under my gov. scholarship at the Industrial Development Agency (PRIDCO) where I worked until my retirement with 30-yr. service, where I reached the position of Planning Director. Since that time I have worked at various institutions as planning consultant, planning director and recently as volunteer with the Catholic Cursillo Movement and the Municipality of Vega Baja, P.R., being 85 yrs. old! I keep abreast of the progress of my community and my Island, and have a 2nd. home in Deltona, FL, which my wife, Nilda, which I married 60 yrs. ago, and I visit often. We had 5 children and 11 grandchildren and up to now two great-grandchildren! Thanks all to God, my family and my community. Best wishes for a very Happy Christmas and a rewarding New Year! Owen N. Martinez-Sandin, owennmt@alu.mit.edu.
