ShelterBox has responded to more
than 200 disasters in over 90 countries, delivering humanitarian aid
in the form of equipment and materials that bring shelter, warmth and dignity to families during their
greatest time of need.
While the traditional focus of relief organizations is on immediate needs, ShelterBox fills the niche of emergency shelter and other non-food items. Each iconic green box contains a disaster relief tent, water purification unit, mosquito net, tool set, cook stove, blankets, a children's comfort pack and additional supplies that allow families to live independently and with dignity as they begin to rebuild their lives.
ShelterBox Response Teams are first-responders, often arriving on the ground within 24 hours in countries where disasters have occurred. These volunteers oversee the distribution of boxes to individual recipients, making sure aid gets directly to those people who need it most.
