The 1:1 Movement works to create cleaner, greener, healthier, and more vibrant communities through the power of one person, one action, and one community.
We started 1:1 Movement with a simple idea- we can all be part of the solution in making our community as safe, clean, and healthy as possible. With this idea, 1:1 has collected momentum to organize as a group from all walks of life. From nonprofit to legal, academic to farmer, we embody multiple backgrounds.
We focus on raising awareness about sustainability, the issues surrounding sustainability, and how to continue the conversation on conservation. Sustainability is a word most often heard in liberal, progressive, environmental circles. Sustainability encompasses much more. It is integral in not only the environment, but also within our economy and our health. To us, sustainability in its simplest definition means whether we can continue living how we do today… or not.
Our approach is from the bottom up, top down. Bottom up means grassroots educational programs that we lead in classrooms (K-12), colleges, and communities. Top down refers to our corporate outreach with businesses to offer sustainable options and divert waste.
With regards to sustainability, the ratio is simple. Every plastic bag that is not used, one bag is conserved. Your action has the ability to make an immediate impact.
