About

To compassionately protect innocent cows from cruelty and slaughter by spreading the knowledge of cow protection worldwide.

The International Society for Cow Protection, Inc. (ISCOWP) was incorporated in the USA, March 1990, as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization. William and Irene Dove (Balabhadra das and Chayadevi dasi) are its managing directors. They are disciples of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). Through their spiritual master's teachings, they have imbibed the practices and benefits, both spiritual and material, of lifetime cow protection. The tenets of cow protection are universal and nonsectarian, available to all regardless of race, creed, or nationality.

Living by Example
ISCOWP's headquarters, consisting of 165 acres in Moundsville, West Virginia, USA, provides a setting for a protected herd of 20 cows, seminars, hands-on instruction, ISCOWP's office, ox-power and life centered on the land and cows. Guests are welcome for scheduled tours and events. A cabin is available for temporary residence of volunteers, trainees and members.

Educational Materials
Our web site (www.iscowp.org) is a wealth of information about cow protection. Twenty-three years in publication, the ISCOWP News ( www.iscowp.org/newsletters-pdf.html) informs its readers of cow protection activities. Additional educational materials (http://www.iscowp.org/literature.html) offer a wide scope of information about cow protection. Various educational videos are available on our YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/ISCOWP108

Adopt A Cow
An Adopt A Cow program is available to provide an opportunity for people to support a cow and develop a relationship with their cow and cow protection. You may adopt a cow online at: http://www.iscowp.org/adopt-a-cow.html

Diet Education
Vegetarian food preparation and preservation from the ISCOWP garden provides food for the farm residents and a living classroom setting for teaching the "how to" of a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. The first Harvest Workshop was held in September 2004 which demonstrated and taught these skills.
