to empower survivors of domestic violence to rebuild violence free lives

Women Organized to Make Abuse Nonexistent, Inc. (WOMAN, Inc.) is a community-based, multilingual, non-profit domestic violence resource center that has been serving underserved, low-income and minority women and their children in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1978. For 30 years, 24-hours a day, WOMAN, Inc. has provided free, compassionate, comprehensive and culturally sensitive services to over 250,000 survivors of domestic violence and their children as they battle for their dignity and for their lives.

WOMAN, Inc.’s mission: to empower survivors of domestic violence to rebuild violence free lives and to abolish domestic violence. We promote a violence free society through advocacy, education, public policy, and empowering certified volunteers to take a leadership role in their communities. We offer domestic violence survivors a 24/7 multilingual crisis line and culturally sensitive support programs.
