My Native American heritage was from the larger Tewa Indian Nation, who were later part of the Isleta Pueblo tribe that still have a reservation just outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
My lineage was from the maternal Lobato (Portugese) line that arrived in the "New World" in 1547. This was 80 years before the Pilgrims established a colony in Massachusetts. The men served in the Civil War, Spanish American War, WWI, and WWII.
Many of you have read my Father's account as a POW in Japan.
An early definition of Respect means to "look again". Please consider honoring these first Americans.
