A great victory update from Moms Demand Action:
Wow, that was fast!
Following pressure on social media asking Chipotle to prohibit guns in its restaurants, the Denver-based company issued a statement:
"[W]e are respectfully asking that customers not bring guns into our restaurants, unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel."
This is a crucial victory for our movement -- not only because we can now feel safer to enjoy a burrito in Chipotle, but because it sends a message to business owners everywhere that the safety of their customers must come first.
This is the third time in a year that you've helped convince a major, national restaurant chain to keep guns out of their stores. First came Starbucks, then Jack in the Box and now Chipotle.
And by taking on these fights, we're also sending a message to the gun lobby that Americans won't accept a "guns everywhere, at anytime, for anybody" status quo.
Victories like these only occur because of the power of this movement and the actions of dedicated supporters like you.
Thank you for being a part of our work. It really is making a difference.
