Board of Trustees vote spares Family and Consumer Sciences programs
I am happy to say that the University of Akron's Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher Education and Graduate Programs have *not* been suspended. Due to the excellent hard work of the Faculty Senate's Academic Program Committee, Chair Bill Rich, and the impassioned pleas from community members like you, we successfully made our case to keep our programs open. I hope that this is the first step to rebuilding the programs to their their former strength. They were once thriving programs, and with a little support they could be again.
Thank you to all of you who signed the petition and wrote statements of support. They were much appreciated during a trying time for our faculty.
