Philip Wollen (Australian philanthropist and former vice-president of Citi Bank) from The Kindness Trust states, “fur farms are gulags of despair; they commit the most heinous of abuses for the most trivial of reasons” (January, 2013).
Millions of innocent animals are farmed and killed in the most horrendous way, solely for their fur. Their discarded bodies potentially cause an environmental hazard. All this cruelty is for a fur fashion item that nobody needs. Only egocentric people, lacking in compassion, wear fur today.
Please add your voice to this campaign so that we can let retailers know that we do not want fur sold in South Africa.
How you can help
In 2015 Sandton City Centre (Jhb.) opened a luxury section called "Diamond Walk", where several shops sell items containing animal fur. This pledge will help show fur retailers that South Africans put compassion over cruelty. We want to be "Proudly South African".
