It's Time to Call Our Senators!
The Military Justice Improvement Act (MJIA) is coming up for a vote as soon as this week, and a few Senators could make all the difference! We need you to call their offices and ask them to give victims a vote!
This common sense, bipartisan legislation would start to bring justice to victims and survivors. The MJIA would remove the decision to prosecute sexual assault cases from an often-biased chain of command, and put it into the hands of independent prosecutors. There is clear support for MJIA from veterans groups, the public, and a bipartisan majority of the Senate.
Since this petition launched last week, over 8,000 of you have spoken up for victims of sexual assault in the military, and their families. Last week, Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) became the 55th Senator to voice his support for the MJIA. Now we only need a few more Senators to ensure victims get a vote on the one thing they keep asking for.
Thank you so much for joining with us, and helping to finally give our brave men and women in uniform a justice system they deserve.
But we still need your help! The Military Justice Improvement Act (MJIA) is coming up for a vote as soon as this week, and a few Senators could make all the difference!
Call these Senators and urge them not to support a filibuster!

Over 26,000 sexual crimes occurred in the military in 2012 alone. 92% of victims choose not to come forward. Of those few who do, 62% of women report retaliation. The sexual assault epidemic persists because our military justice system is failing victims.
No more excuses. No more delays.
Congress must act.
