Stewart-Colbert: "End the media blackout on TPP"!

A new Media Matters study found that evening television news broadcasts are keeping viewers completely in the dark about the TPP.

There was not a single mention of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) on CBS Evening News with Scott Pelly, ABC’s World News with Diane Sawyer, or NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams from August 1, 2013 - January 31, 2014.

JOIN THE FACEBOOK BLITZ calling on news show hosts John Stewart and Steven Colbert to end the media blackout on the TPP!

Just copy/paste one of the following  statements to the Daily Show and Colbert Report Facebook pages (or write your own!):

--To Jon Stewart--

  • Please, Jon Stewart, mock the Trans-Pacific Partnership and help end the media blackout! Getting the ugly truth out about TPP is not only good for labor rights, the environment, national sovereignty, internet freedom, affordable medicine, democracy and sanity, but it's also great comedy! Whenever congressional representatives don't have full access to world-changing laws that they are supposed to vote up or down without debate or amendment, there are lots of opportunities for yuks.

While Congress debates whether to give Obama the authority to fast-track a massive free trade agreement (TPP) between nations that account for nearly 40 percent of the world's GDP and 26 percent of the world's trade, let's make sure the media is doing its job and educating the public!
